Barbie, Ant-Man and the Spider-Verse are among the finalists for the Oscar for Best Visual Effects, see list
Oppenheimer has been removed from the list of finalists!
As the year ends and the Oscars approach, award shortlists begin to be announced, mostly in technical categories. One of them is Best Visual Effectswhose list of 20 finalists includes such well-known films as “Barbie”, “Into the Spider-Verse”, as well as some films that have not yet been released, such as director Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon”.

Despite the extensive list, there are some names that were omitted and may surprise many, such as: Oppenheimerdirector’s new film Christopher Nolan. In the film, although not used computer graphicsbrings a good amount practical effect, which also fits into the Visual Effects category, but it was still not enough to qualify as a finalist in that category.
You 20 finalists there will be a vote that will take place between days December 14 and 18, narrowing this list down to just 10 films. After that between days January 11 and 16 a new vote will be held to determine the five candidates, with an announcement to be made on the same day. January 23O. O Oscar will happen that day 10th of March.
