Wonka: Hugh Grant says he hated playing an Oompa Loompa in the film
The experience was not very pleasant for the actor
All the magic Fantastic chocolate factory returns with debut Wonka, which will take place this Thursday (7). But it looks like the experience wasn’t all that magical for actor Hugh Grant, who plays an Oompa Loompa in the film. At a press conference (Metro), the star admitted that he hated this role.
The reason for his disgust is due to the motion capture work that allowed him to transform into an Oompa Loompa in the film. Grant said that the filming was “very uncomfortable”as he had several cameras and other devices attached to his face. “It was like a crown of thorns.”- said the actor.
Grant concluded his statement by saying that “I couldn’t hate it all more” and that all body work was also disrupted due to the motion capture process.
“Honestly, what I did to my body was terrible, and it was all replaced by an artist.”
The actor was also asked if it was worth the discomfort when he watched the final result, to which he responded “A little”.
In direction from Paul King (The Adventures of Paddington), Wonka stars Timothée Chalamet, who plays the younger version Willy Wonka before he opened his famous chocolate factory.
Wonka debut that day December 7 to the cinema.
