Chris Evans indicates less interest in continuing to act: ‘Sometimes the last thing I want to do is read the script’

The actor has become more selective in his projects

Chris Evans noted many living Steve Rogers V Marvel Cinematic Universe and since then he has continued to excel in other projects such as Between knives and secrets. But now the actor said that he has become much more selective in choosing the jobs he agrees to, explaining that his interest in acting faded.

This became known in an interview with the magazine. GQin which Evans spoke about changing his priorities. “Now it’s about what time of year are we filming?” he said about the proposed new roles. “Will I miss autumn? You know, I don’t want to miss autumn. I don’t have an unlimited supply of them.”

Evans continued by commenting on other interests, adding:

“I don’t want to – I have to express it correctly. I was going to say I don’t want to spend a lot of time in this industry, but it doesn’t seem… It doesn’t sound right. I don’t want to take up too much space in an industry that I’ve already dedicated 20 years to.” the actor laughed. “Sometimes I wonder if there’s something missing – like, I’m a very determined person. I have a lot of energy. I wake up early, do a lot of things in a day, but don’t always focus on acting. Sometimes reading the script is the last thing I want to do.”

This year the actor did not record a single production. “I haven’t worked all year and don’t plan to work, and it was great.” – said Evans. Last year, the actor starred in three films in a row, which he regretted, saying that although he enjoyed making films, the process was tedious.

The actor is starring in the film “Mafia Dora” with Emily Blunt. The Netflix film will debut this year.

Steve Rogers’ former translator also stated that he has no aspirations to act in films again, saying that “I would avoid the lead role every time if I could.”. Moreover, Evans explained that he still has difficulties with the other side of the profession, which requires a certain attitude outside the set – and compared himself to Robert Downey Jr.MCU Iron Man to explain the difference he sees between himself and his co-stars:

“Someone like Robert Downey Jr. walks into a room and he owns the place” He said. “He has so much presence, so much power. Magnetic in every way. Let him be the main character. Give him a microphone, let him say the words, whatever needs to be said. Everything is fine. Because there are two sides to acting, right? There’s what you do on set and what you do after. But after that it’s still difficult for me to do. And this is the part where some people are just phenomenal and born to do it. I say leave it to them. I’m not trying to live up to that position. So if good supporting roles come along, I’ll run for them. Just like Knives Out. I’m glad to be part of a great cast. I don’t need to niche myself down by just playing leading roles.”

Evans’ next work Pain Mafiawhich will premiere in October on Netflix.
