Since its debut, The Last of Us has outdone itself every week.
After a stunning episode that introduced the pairing of Frank and Bill, The Last of Us slows down to build on its next plot, the arrival of brothers Sam and Henry. But even the most sluggish plot has failed to sway the growing audience the series has shown since its debut. For the third week in a row, a new episode of The Last of Us outsold the previous week’s audience (via Deadline).
Episode 4 “Please Hold My Hand”reached the amount 7.5 million viewers, distributed between HBO and HBO Max. This is an increase 17% Compared to the previous Sunday, an even more surprising milestone given that the program competed with a live broadcast of the Grammy’s historic edition.
From the second to the third week, the increase 12%. Immediately after the premiere, the increase was even more pronounced – in the 2nd episode, the increase was 22% viewers on the first night. At the moment, the series has already accumulated 60% increase in an audience that watches new episodes on the day of release.
