Yolanda Diaz his election battle has begun. He did it through his candidacy with Sumar, and he will do it while trying to gain weight in the media. Beginning next week, the current secretary of labor and the second vice president will meet with the major media conglomerates to agree positions, the newspaper has learned.

In particular, in the coming days, Yolanda Diaz will meet with the leaders Prisa, Atresmedia and Mediaset. “These kinds of gatherings are the norm in preparation for the general election,” sources familiar with the gatherings say. The Galician politician in this sense began a solo career, once deciding to head the Sumar project.

As is usual in such cases, as people familiar with the matter emphasize, politicians and top managers are “exchanging points of view to try to bring positions closer, since large conglomerates and mainstream formations must understand each other.” Yolanda Diaz, at the start of these conversations, abandons Podemos strategywhich maintains a reactionary discourse against big TV, radio and print media.

Ione Belarra, Irene Montero and Pablo Iglesias have released many messages against journalists such as Ana Rosa Quintana (Mediaset), Garcia Ferreras (Atresmedia) or criticized some editorials A country. In fact, the former leader of Podemos has taken refuge on his new TV channel CanalRed to speak his mind against the big media groups in our country.

Unlike the Podemos leaders, Yolanda Diaz never raised her voice against the big news conglomerates and was far more relaxed than her government counterparts, a strategy that could have given her a place on Spanish TV and radio stations.

However, this is not the first meeting of Yolanda Diaz with an authoritative director of the Spanish media world. vozpopuli announced a few weeks ago that the leader of Sumar already had several contacts with Jaume Roures, the owner of the newspaper Publicand that he was trying to strengthen ties with Podemos and now with Galician politics.

The meeting will coincide with the one that Feijoo had with Ugurlyan, president of Prisa. Publisher Cadena Ser and El Pais wants to change relations with the blue formation, since all forecasts show that the PP will win the elections next July.

TVs move the token to the elections without Yolanda

With the election and campaign deadlines set, television has already made various proposals for organizing various debates that could be crucial in changing the votes of millions of voters.

Thus, the RTVE, which is in the period of opposition, proposed to political parties that three pre-election debates be held before the July 23 elections. The first debate at the beginning of the election campaign will take place on Monday, July 10, at 22:00. It will be a face-to-face meeting between the candidates of the two main political forces, Pedro Sanchez (PSOE) and Alberto Nunez Feijoo (PP). The second, as in the previous general elections, is a 7-person debate between representatives of these seven formations with their own parliamentary group in Congress: PSOE, PP, Vox, Unidas Podemos, ERC, PNV and EH Bildu. Finally, he proposes four candidates from the first political forces on July 17th.

Atresmedia also made proposals on July 12 with candidates for the presidency of the main political forces who will compete in the elections on July 23; and another, on 19 July, between Prime Minister and PSOE candidate Pedro Sánchez and opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijoo.

This would mean that Yolanda Diaz would be excluded from all the offers that TV made to political forces, so it makes sense that she would meet with big companies in the audiovisual sector.
