The reason for those standing in front of the BMW division in Araquari, Norte Catarinense is to celebrate. On September 30, last Friday, the factory celebrates its eighth anniversary with the release of products that are outstanding in the country. Since its foundation in 2014, more than 80,000 vehicles have been produced here.

There are four different models in total with the best-selling premium cars in the country: Series 3 and X1, in addition to the most technologically powerful (X3 and X4), and production of new Series 3 and X1 models will soon begin.

Otavio Rodakosviski, Managing Director of the BMW Group’s Araquari plant, is proud to celebrate the division’s preparations and, moreover, continues to make cars even more attractive and perfect for customers.

The Araquari factory has a total area of ​​1.5 million square meters, of which 112,893 square meters have been built. In addition, the national division is the largest premium car manufacturing plant on the continent and is jointly headquartered with the company’s São Paulo office as the only global engineering center for the BMW Group in South America.

The BMW Group plant in Araquari continues to consider the global sustainability goals as one of its priorities. It receives electricity from renewable sources, works to reduce CO₂ emissions from its operations, and is expanding its area with photovoltaic panels from 2020.
