In Santa Catarina, 14 companies are included in the 18th edition of the Champions of Innovation ranking in southern Brazil. Among 50 selected items, Whirlpool of Santa Catarina in Joinville came in second in a survey conducted by Grupo Amanhã and IXL-Center.

The rating was based on the methodology of the Global Innovation Management Institute. The first choice was Gerdau from Rio Grande do Sul. In the top five is Lojas Renner from Rio Grande do Sul, who finished third.

Empresas Randon, also from Rio Grande do Sul, came in fourth, while Dell Computers from the same state came in fifth.
