The bridge collapsed and the truck went down, stranding four people on Linha do Cedro, in the interior of the municipality of Ibicar, in the Midwest of Santa Catarina. The Treze Tilias Volunteer Fire Department carried out rescue work around 9:40 am on Tuesday (11).
According to rescuers, three men were in the truck and were trying to cross it when the bridge collapsed. The fourth man was in the car and was assessing whether he could cross the bridge when he also found himself stranded.
Firefighters used the zip-line technique to rescue the men. With the help of rescue equipment at a height and lowering a steel cable from the car’s winch, firefighters secured themselves to the tree and were able to complete the rescue work. The victims were safely rescued. The river was quite rough.
