A 44-year-old man suspected of shooting his own teenage daughter on Monday afternoon (10) in San Jose, Grand Florianopolis has already been charged with threatening and abusing the victim in another case.
A 17-year-old teenager received a gunshot wound to the right thigh. She was taken to the hospital but has since been discharged and is doing well. The man was detained at the scene of the crime for attempting femicide, his weapon was confiscated.
According to Delegate Marjoli Adorian Valcareggi of the DPCAMI (Delegation for the Protection of Children, Adolescents, Women and the Elderly) in San Jose, after the crime, the victim went to the police station, accompanied by her mother and aunt. After providing the first information, she was taken to the hospital.
Officers of the civil police from OVDPMI went in search of the suspect. The teenager’s father was found at work and caught red-handed.
According to Delegate Marjoli, it was established that a previous procedure involving a detained man and a teenager had already been opened at GPCAMI. During this procedure, the father was charged with threatening and abusing his daughter in connection with domestic violence.
After passing through the police station, the man was sent to Casa do Albergado, where he will remain at the disposal of the judiciary.
Motivation
The incident was recorded around 4:35 p.m. at the family’s home, located on Rua Joao Luis Farias, in the Fazenda Santo António area.
According to the delegate, the motive for the crime was a quarrel between father and daughter. The man fired at the wall, and the shell hit the teenager.
The case is being treated as an attempted femicide because of the possible intent when the risk of the outcome is assumed.
