The man did not comply with the protection measures for his ex-wife and even fled with his 5-month-old son to Itajai, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, last Saturday morning (1). He broke into the woman’s house, breaking down the door.
The military police were called at around 7:20 a.m. on Leopoldo Ternes Street in the Fazenda district. The woman reported that her ex-husband broke down the door of her house and got inside.
Also, he would run away with his 5-month-old son without his consent. She said that she has a measure of protection against her ex-husband.
The 41-year-old victim said that she was sleeping when the man approached the house and started knocking on the door, wanting to enter the house. Fearing that he might attack her again, the woman said she would not open the door.
The 38-year-old man started kicking the door until he was able to break it down. Then he entered the woman’s house and went to the bedroom, where he forcibly took away his 5-month-old son and fled with the baby in his arms.
The woman reported to the police that she imagined that her ex-husband could go to her father’s house. Police officers went to the scene with the victim, also in the Fazenda area, and found the man along with his son.
When the police approached, the suspect tried to escape. Soon he was found in a neighboring house.
The man was handcuffed and taken to the Itajai police station. He was arrested red-handed for causing harm and failing to comply with protective measures, among other possible offences.
