Once again, Joinville, north of Santa Catarina, will host a national arms fair. The event takes place between 3 and 6 August and, as in the previous edition, in 2021 the presence of children at the fair was controversial, but this time the organization followed the recommendation of the public ministry of Santa Catarina.
Last year, the MPSC already recommended limiting the presence of children and teenagers. According to the public ministry, the organization has begun to communicate correctly about the restrictions, and this time the entry of minors under 18 is prohibited, with one exception.
Only teenagers who practice shooting sports, aged 14 and over, and accompanied by their parents or guardians, may enter this site, but their visit is limited to areas dedicated to the specific theme of shooting sports.
The restriction was already in the court order that authorized the event, but the information on the ticket sales and distribution channels was still incorrect and clear. The recommendation was made by the 4th Prosecutor’s Office and is now accepted with an update on the event channels.
