The couple were arrested after the Federal Tax Service discovered a location in Blumenau, in the Itajaí Valley, where counterfeit and imported drinks were being stored without proper customs clearance. The operation was performed this Thursday (21).
According to the Federal Tax Service, Blumenau’s surveillance and repression team found evidence that there was a second warehouse in the city where illegal goods were stored, similar to the one discovered last Tuesday (19) in Indiala.
The Blumenau warehouse was managed by a military police officer
According to the Tax Service, the operation in Blumenau was supported by the 10th BPM (Military Police Battalion) and the PM Internal Affairs Directorate. The warehouse, which the revenue department said was run by a military police officer and his wife, contained hundreds of bottles of distilled liquor in a similar situation to the products seized in Indayal.
As a result, the products were seized and sent to the warehouse of the Federal Tax Service. The suspects were brought to testify at the Federal Police headquarters in Itajaí.
