Operation Magic Revelada, which attracted national attention this Monday (18), led to the arrest of seven people in Pará and one in Pernambuco. The investigation is focused on a criminal organization associated with online gambling, commonly known as Jogo do Tigrinho.

According to the portal R7, among those arrested are Gleison Pereira Soares, known as “Mago das Unhas,” who posted a video ridiculing the operation; Jessica Meireles Alves; Jamili de Pinho Ipiranga; Janne Raquel Andrade dos Santos; Raisa Natasha Motta Berbari; Emily Almeida da Pena; and Susana Carla.

Noel Maria de Araujo Lopez, Suzana’s daughter and one of the main targets of the operation, is on the run. In addition to her, Ingrid Nayane Silva da Silva, Lucas Tavares Lobo, Hellen Mayara Oliveira Borges and Lorrani do Socorro Almeida de Souza were also not found by the police.

Influencers profited by encouraging their followers to participate in betting on gaming platforms, an illegal activity in Brazil, investigations show. Some members of the group even purchased luxury condominium homes in Belem and imported cars, police found.

These detained influencers have amassed thousands of followers on their social networks. Delegate Daniel Castro from the DPM (Metropolitan Police Department) of the Civil Police of the State of Pará. Investigators said they received money to incentivize followers to bet on gaming platforms, which is an illegal practice in the country.

According to the investigation, the influencer scheme worked like this: for every 100 people recruited, each influencer received R$1,000. According to the police, the financial transactions of one of those investigated exceeded 20 million reais.

The operation began four months ago when the victim came to Belen’s trading department and reported that he had lost 15,000 reais. According to the victim, she could have won 400,000 reais in the game, but when she tried to withdraw this amount, she was blocked from the betting site.

The arrests were made at various locations, including brothels and luxury condominiums in Belem. A total of 12 arrest warrants were issued: four in Belém, one in Bragança, another in São Francisco do Pará (delivered to Castanhal) and one in Recife (PE), where an investigator from Pará landed to attend the launch event gaming platform.

Also concerning is the lack of transparency regarding game rules, winning odds and payment procedures. In some cases, there are gaming establishments that operate fraudulently, leading to rigged games and unreliable payments. Additionally, the legality of gambling can vary, which can make it difficult for players to judge the fairness of the system.

Ultimately, gambling poses significant financial risks, and negative experiences associated with these games have led many people to question their reliability and impact on society.
