Fire Technical Guide
Faced with this fire and the actions of the occupants who broke a window to retrieve their belongings, firefighters issued technical instructions: “This action intensified the fire, increasing the damage, including the burning of belongings. If the windows had not been blown out, the fire would not have been supplied with oxygen, and the damage would have been less, concentrated only at the point of origin.”
