The duo suspected of brutally robbing residents of a house on Rua Tome Braga in Blumenau, Vale do Itajaí, will remain in prison after their temporary arrest warrants were converted into preventive detention this Thursday (14). The robbery took place on August 25 in broad daylight.
Two young men, aged 23 and 24, were temporarily arrested on October 10 this year by officers of the DRFR (Police Anti-Theft and Robbery Station) in Blumenau.
The duo lived in Minas Gerais and came to SC only to rob a house, say the Civil Police
Following a brutal robbery on August 25 in Blumenau, investigative teams from the same police station established that the suspects were residents of Montes Claros (MG) and had come to Santa Catarina solely to commit the crime.
The duo also involved a third party, a driver who was killed on October 6 in Joinville. After judicial authorities issued arrest warrants, back in October, a duo from Minas Gerais suspected of committing a robbery were found and arrested at a motel in Joinville.
The weapon used in the robbery was seized by the civilian police, as well as some items seized from the house. The couple remained temporarily detained and were ordered into preventive detention this Thursday (14).
Consider crimes that ranged from severed fingers to death threats.
It all happened late on the morning of August 25, when the pair broke into a house on Rua Tome Braga in the Jardim Blumenau district and arrested the residents.
An aunt and niece were targeted by criminals: one of them had part of her finger cut off and received death threats.
Civilian police said the couple entered the house with guns and held the occupants hostage for about 3 hours. They even cut the hair and nails of one of the victims using violence and serious threats.
A large amount of cash was then seized from the house, as well as several items, which were partially returned. Images released by civilian police showed the suspects leaving the building. The case continues to be investigated by the Blumenau civilian police.
