A woman was injured after she called the app driver and fled in his car. The race, which ended with the arrest of a Texas resident in the United States, took place on Sunday (10).

In a plot similar to a scene from the film, Neusha Afkami played the lead role. She called the app driver to catch her flight at the international airport. However, when he realized that he would not arrive on time, he decided to take the driver’s car.

The woman threw the driver’s cell phone out the window, and when he went out to get the device, Neusha, 27, got behind the wheel and sped off to get to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

While picking up the car, the woman had the audacity to leave a message. “I need to get to the airport, so I’ll take your car and drop it off at Southwest Airlines.”

She actually managed to arrive at the airport before departure. In fact, the thief had time to spend $130 (R$640 at the current exchange rate) on the driver’s credit card.

But Neyusha’s agility led her not to take off, but to a stop. She was detained by police officers who were waiting for her at the airport, in the departure area. What the woman had written off from the driver’s app card turned out to be in her possession and was returned.

Neyusha has been arrested and is due to appear in court on January 9.
