This Wednesday afternoon (14), an Argentine tourist was charged with committing a crime of racism in Bombinhas, the northern coast of SC. TPA (Environmental Protection Tax) staff recorded at least three videos of the same woman making racial slurs.
According to the Civil Police, the controversy began in late November when a family of Argentine tourists refused to stop their vehicles at the city’s toll gate, saying they were exempt from paying because they owned property in the city.
However, every vehicle with a foreign license plate, even if it is exempt, must stop and present a document with an exemption QR code for issue, which they refused to do. Only exempt Brazilian license plates can drive directly through it.
Because of this, friction began, which employees recorded in photographs. The civic police had access to five videos shot by toll plaza employees and in three of them, the accused woman insulted the workers, calling them “shitty black people” and “monkeys.”
