Father and sons died in shootout
On October 24, Pedro Ferreira de Barba, 55, David Vinicius Souza de Barba, 22, and Douglas Samuel Souza Barba, 25, were shot and killed in Ilhota.
According to police, the man and his two children were on property located in the Boa Vista area and were negotiating to purchase a farm. At some point, four men arrived on two motorcycles, one remained on the street, and the other three began shooting with firearms.
After the shooting, the suspects threatened the homeowner and locked her in the bedroom. They then fled, taking the woman’s cell phone as well as her surveillance camera video recorder.
When the Ilgota Volunteer Fire Department arrived, two of the victims were already dead.
The body of one of them was found near the balcony with head injuries. The second was lying on the sofa, also with head injuries.
The third victim was in another room and had eight gunshot marks on his body. The young man was very agitated and was taken in serious condition to the Marieta Konder Bornhausen Hospital in Itajai. However, he did not survive and his death was confirmed the next day.
