A woman suspected of belonging to a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking in Pato Branco (PNR) was arrested in Porto Belo, on the northern coast of SC, this Wednesday afternoon (13). The arrest was part of a police operation by the Paraná Civil Police (PCPR) to implement 54 court orders against the criminal organization.

In total, 17 preventive arrest warrants, 23 search warrants and 14 bank account freezes were issued. More than 100 police officers took part in the action against the criminal organization, supported by the military police, one of the PCPR helicopters, as well as the civilian police of Santa Catarina.

According to the Civil Police of the state of Paraná, the investigations began in March with the execution of three search and arrest warrants in residential buildings used for drug trafficking, with the aim of finding and seizing firearms and drugs.

While executing the warrants, the team from Paraná received information that one of the suspects was in the city of Porto Belo. Therefore, the preventive arrest warrant was transferred to the Civil Police by the Armed Forces.

Agents found and arrested the woman, who was taken to the Canhanduba Women’s Prison, which remains in the custody of the Paraná justice system.
