A serious car accident resulted in the death of a 53-year-old man on Monday evening (11) in Azcurra, in Vale do Itajaí. The accident occurred at about 19:30 on the 91st km of the BR-470 highway.

The victim was identified as Raphael Weidgenand, 53. He died after the car he was driving, a Fiat Palio with Apiúna license plates, crashed into a tree.

Man’s death worries former students

Rafael worked for many years as an instructor in two driving schools in Apiuna. On social media, family, friends and former students mourned his passing.

“Classes were more fun with you! Rest in peace, great Rafa,” the former student wrote. “You changed my licensing process,” said another.

Raphael’s funeral will take place until 14:00 this Wednesday (13th) at the NeuHaus crematorium in Blumenau.
