A video is circulating on social networks in which a man attacks his woman in broad daylight in front of several people in the courtyard of a gas station in Blumenau, in the Itajaí Valley. The incident occurred last Saturday afternoon (9) in the Garcia area and the civilian police are investigating the episode.
The video shows a man in a police uniform leaving the establishment next to a woman and pulling her by the arm. You can hear a woman screaming while a man is loudly arguing with her.
Other men, who could have been station employees, watched the scene without reacting. After the attacker and victim approached the motorcycle, he threw the helmet hard to the ground.
The woman then bends down and the man pulls her hair. The man begins kicking the motorcycle, picks up the helmet, slams it on the ground several times, and then throws the accessory into the wall.
The video does not show the result of the attack, and military police were not even called to investigate the matter. However, the video reached the authorities this Monday (11).
The aggression caused riots and indignation among the authorities; Civilian police are trying to identify the attacker and the victim
On social media, Deputy State Delegate Egidio Ferrari (PTB-SC) said that DPCAMI (Department for the Protection of Children, Adolescents, Women and the Elderly) teams are working to identify the suspect and the victim.
According to the parliamentarian’s publication, the suspect is a gas station worker, and the woman is his wife. Mayor Mario Hildebrandt (Podemos) also posted a video commenting on the situation, saying he was outraged.
“As a man, it makes me sad that there are still men in our society who commit such atrocities against women. This type of violence, this type of action deserves all our disgust and indignation,” the mayor comments.
The mayor criticized the fact that other plant specialists saw the scene and did not reprimand the attacker. Mario Hildebrandt highlights the initiatives in Blumenau to combat violence against women and the reception programs for victims of domestic violence.
“There are several programs, both by the military police and the civilian police of the city of Blumenau, to support women who are victims of violence. In particular, there is also a support house for women who are victims of violence. If you suffer from this type of violence, contact our service (…) so that you can be supported and protected from such men,” he concludes.
