The man who died in the collision recorded early on Sunday morning (10) in Blumenau, in Vale do Itajaí, has been identified. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Carlos Rischbieter Street in the Boa Vista area.
Wesley Timoteo Pereira, 22, was taken to the military fire station for treatment and taken to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries and died at the station.
On social media, friends and family of the victim shared a donation to raise the amount needed to transport the body to the city of Registro in Sao Paulo.
“These tragedies took the family by surprise and left them unprepared, especially psychologically,” Sister Wesley said.
Alleged nightclub mistake ends in hit-and-run
The fire department and military police were called to respond to the incident in the Boa Vista area.
At the scene, police were told that a nightclub patron had left the establishment, allegedly without paying for what he had consumed.
Witnesses told the corporation that one of the security guards ran after him, and then a car arrived and hit the two participants. The vehicle and driver were not found.
According to the fire department responsible for treating the nightclub security guard, he suffered injuries to the left side of his forehead, as well as cuts to his arm and right calf. He was taken to Santa Isabel Hospital for treatment.
On Sunday evening (11), the Military Police reported that one of the victims of the collision could not bear the severity of his injuries and died in hospital.
Civil police have launched an investigation into the matter.
This Monday afternoon (11), Civilian Police Chief Ronnie Estevez announced that the DIC (Division of Criminal Investigations) had opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the collision that led to the death of nightclub patron Wesley Timoteo Pereira.
“An investigation was immediately launched by the Civil Police through OIS Blumenau, which was at the scene, but the identity of the perpetrator has not yet been established. Witnesses, as well as the surviving victim, will be questioned in the coming days,” the delegate said.
