We’re used to seeing every news event from every angle, and the media can’t stop waiting for a satellite image of what everything looks like from that perspective. If Spain experiences heavy snowfall, as Filomena did, we won’t be able to see the extent of it until we see a satellite image of half the peninsula covered in white.

In situations such as the war in Ukraine, satellite imagery not only provides context and dimension to the situation, but also serves as evidence of war crimes. Maxara has released some of the images it took over the course of the year at locations around the world that required its cameras to focus for various reasons.
