Invictus, a company based in Palos, Greater Florianópolis, which has practically become the “official” clothing of the Brazilian security forces, has launched a heavy-duty fabric on the market that is already used by the Federal, Federal Legislative and Federal Traffic Police.

The material is an evolution of RipStop fabric, a garment widely used during World War II, the company said.
The fabric, called “RipStop ULTIMATE”, was developed over a six-month period later this year. About 4 thousand pieces are produced from this fabric every month.
The fabric composition looks simple: 65% polyester and 35% cotton. However, according to Invictus, textile technology matters. The interweaving of the threads creates a strong interlocking surface that ensures strength and stability without compromising the comfort and softness of the products, the company emphasizes.

“Tests and tests carried out with RipStop ULTIMATE confirmed the characteristics established in technical standards such as abrasion resistance, traction resistance, rolling (balls), frame, as well as in chemical tests that confirmed color fastness to washing, contact with sweat, water and oil repellent, as well as 50+ UV protection,” says Rodrigo Ferreira, head of marketing and product development at Invictus.
“Unlike other fabrics, ULTIMATE facilitates operator movement without changing the already known tear and abrasion resistance characteristics.”
The company emphasizes that these raw materials are already used in the production of uniforms for the Federal Police, the Federal Legislative Police and the Federal Traffic Police. The civilian public will also be able to purchase Maverick and Platoon pants made with RipStop ULTIMATE.
