Residents and tourists traveling to the town of Bombinhas on the northern coast of SA will soon be able to enter through an alternative access. The entrance will be opened in the coming days through the Estrada Geral do Morro da Antena, which will be renovated.
The Institute of the Environment (IMA) responded to the request of the city of Bombinhas and Congressman Paulinha to restore access, which serves as an alternative route. The measure aims to reduce congestion entering and leaving Bombinhas, especially during the summer season when the city receives up to 2 million tourists.
“In a few days, those who live, visit and love Bombinhas will have another transit alternative to enter and exit the city. An achievement that came through great effort and struggle against opposing forces. This is a victory for the entire population of Bombinense,” emphasizes Mayor Paulinho.
The IMA Technical Inspectorate determined that there was no need to apply for an environmental permit to carry out work on the road as there was no longer any natural vegetation on the site. The road connecting the Vila Nova area of Porto Belo with Morro de Zimbros in Bombinhas was used several decades ago but was no longer used due to a lack of road surface.
Access will be restored
The mayor’s office has committed to revitalizing the road and, as soon as the work is completed, to inform about the conditions for its use. However, since it is not paved, traffic on the site will require drivers’ attention, especially on rainy days.
“We want more dignity and comfort for residents and tourists. An achievement that was only possible thanks to the tireless work under the leadership of Mayor Paulinho. In the next few days, once the work is completed, drivers will be able to use this section as an alternative route,” confirms Paulinha.
