DelItajaí (Itajaí Port Authority) approved last Tuesday (5) a plan to tow a barge that has been stranded in Praia Central de Balneario Camboriu since the beginning of November. If all goes well, it should be removed by the end of the week.
The plan was prepared and sent by Baltt Empreiteira Transportes e Terraplenagem, owner of the structure, which can tow from 22:00 Thursday (7) to 00:30 Friday (8).
The barge was carrying “mysteries” before it discovered its origin
The barge ran aground Nov. 28 on the 3700 block of the street and attracted the attention of passersby passing by Praia Central. At first, its origin was a mystery, and the population even joked that it was a “ghost boat.”
Other suspicions were that it would contain the remains of a floating bar that caught fire in Caixa d’Açu, in Porto Belo, or even that it would be a ferry with fireworks for the municipality’s New Year’s Eve.
The explanation, however, was much simpler: the barge was used to support work carried out at sea and was anchored in Barra Sul. She was pulled ashore due to the wind, rain and currents recorded in the region at the time. . .
