After heavy rains hit Chapeco in western Santa Catarina, the Marechal Borman Regional Office is working to restore damaged roads. The work is not expected to be completed due to unstable weather conditions.
Road repair crews are working to keep roads damaged by heavy rains in October and November.
According to the regional office of the district of Marechal Borman, 429 km of rural roads, which are located in the districts of Marechal Borman and Goyo En, were affected.

According to Superintendent Aderbal Pedroso, teams are working in the hardest-hit areas to rebuild damaged roads, with a focus on problem solving and traffic restoration.
“We are working on maintenance every day, but as soon as there is favorable weather, sunny days and good weather, the work will be completed,” he explained.
According to Pedroso, the working group has a fleet of six trucks, two excavators, two patrol vehicles, a crawler tractor, two rollers, a mobile jaw crusher, a water tanker and a PC to carry out the work.
