The taxi driver was saved by his seat belt from being stabbed in the chest. The attempted attack occurred while he was driving a taxi with a 13-year-old boy as a passenger. The incident was recorded in Sungai Petani, Malaysia, on November 27. The moment of the attack was recorded by a video surveillance camera installed in the car.
Before the attack, the teenager asked the taxi driver to borrow the equivalent of 50 reais to pay the rent of the house where he lives. The driver, unhappy with the request, told the passenger that he should get out of the car if he did not have money for the fare.
The teenager asked the driver to drop him off at home where he could make payment. Before getting out of the car, the boy had to pay the driver a fee. When the taxi driver was distracted by the change, the teenager attacked him.
The blow struck by the teenager hit the waist, and the victim managed to act quickly, biting the attacker’s hand. The boy fled the car but was eventually located and arrested.

“Investigations have revealed that the teenage suspect is the eldest of four brothers and does not have any problematic background,” local police chief Zaidi Che Hassan told the British tabloid Daily Mail.
“The boy attacked the driver because he got angry after the driver scolded him and tried to demand his money back,” he added.
