The treasurers of the church in the rural area of ​​José Boito, in Alto Vale do Itajaí, experienced moments of horror this Sunday (3). According to military police, their home was invaded by two armed hooded men who were looking for money collected at a religious community party several hours earlier.

As the couple told police, they spent the day at church, returned home and were surprised when they went to bed.

The hooded armed duo burst into the house, smashed the glass of the living room door and held a gun to the heads of a man and woman, demanding money raised at a church party.

A 45-year-old woman who helps her husband as a treasurer said that they did not have this amount. The suspects then forced her into the family car and drove away the surrendered woman in her own car.

Victim kidnapped after men failed to find church money

Left alone at home, the treasurer asked an acquaintance to go after the bandits on a motorcycle, trying to save his wife from kidnapping. At some point, the suspects, who were with the kidnapped woman, decided to change their route and came across a 20-year-old motorcyclist.

The couple shot the motorcyclist, who fell on the road and went to the Jose Boito Hospital for help. At the scene, the military police became aware of the incident, and doctors treated the young man with a bullet wound to his leg.

Then the woman who was the victim of the kidnapping arrived at the hospital and reported that she had been released. Unharmed, she said that after shooting the motorcyclist, the couple decided to abandon the car and the victim, continuing their escape in another car, taking nothing with them.

Military police have carried out patrols and searches in the region but have not yet found anyone. A police complaint has been registered so that the civilian police can begin investigating the case.
