A 48-year-old man died on Friday evening (1st), the victim of an industrial accident in Bombinhas, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina. It was around 7:00 pm when the fire service and military police were called to respond to the incident.
According to police, the patient was admitted to the emergency department (UPA) in Bombinhas and died during treatment after falling from a significant height.
Officers spoke with the doctor on duty who was treating the patient, who said he treated the worker who was already unconscious, in cardiopulmonary arrest and with serious injuries throughout his body.
The worker died 2 hours after the accident
At about 9:39 p.m., while he was being treated, he was confirmed dead by the medical unit. The man died approximately 40 minutes after CPR was attempted.
Witnesses reported that the man was a construction worker and fell from the 4th or 5th floor while in a small chair intended exclusively for construction workers. The building under construction is located on Rua Gavian, on Bombas beach.
Security forces did not specify the cause of the fall, and the identity of the deceased was not revealed.
IML (Institute of Medical Law) teams were called in to remove the body from the medical center. Civilian police teams have also been called in to begin the investigation the case requires.
