A man died from electrocution while repairing the motor of his swimming pool in Itapema, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, on Saturday evening (2). He was rescued by family members but succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

According to the fire service, crews were called at around 7pm on Saturday to the Josias Zaragoza easement in the Sertan do Trombudo area of Itapema.
When help arrived, the 38-year-old victim was lying on the ground without signs of life.
According to family reports, he was repairing the pool motor at the house when he was electrocuted.
He was reportedly rescued by family members, but did not survive and died at the scene. The Civil Police and the General Institute of Expertise were called.
