This Thursday, two people (30) were arrested on suspicion of involvement in a child pornography crime. This is part of a new phase of the ongoing Civil Police Operation Guardian Angels. Search and arrest warrants were carried out in various regions of Santa Catarina, in the cities of Rio Negrino, Blumenau, Camboriu and Sao Jose.
The investigation, carried out by the Police Computer Crime Unit (DRCI/DEIC) with support from the Scientific Police, is aimed at identifying suspects in possession of photographs and videos containing content related to the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
During the searches, the police came to the conclusion that the defendants were storing illegal content, and one of them was selling child pornography.
Two suspects were arrested red-handed on charges of possessing content containing sexually explicit or pornographic scenes involving a child or teenager under Section 241-B of the Children and Adolescents Act (ECA), and a teenager was also detained. relevant similar act on the offense.
Several electronic devices belonging to those involved in the investigation were seized and sent to the Scientific Police for examination. The case is the result of an investigation based on a complaint received in collaboration between the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children – NCMEC (USA), the Federal Police and the Civil Police.
The operation involved the police’s Anti-Fraud Unit, the Environmental and Consumer Crime Unit, DEIC management, and the Rio Negriño District Police Station.
