The body of one of the missing men in the Itajai Azu River in Indayal was discovered by volunteer firefighters on Wednesday afternoon (29). The search for the father and son has continued since the disappearance was reported.
The missing persons are Wilson Giacomozzi, 60, and Rodrigo Teixeira Giacomozzi, 27, according to Indaial Volunteer Firefighters. They were thrown to the bottom of the river after their boat, like a boat, capsized.
The body, found this Wednesday, three days after the disappearance, has still not been identified.
According to the rescue team, he was found in the town of Encano Baixo, about 3 km from where he disappeared.
Father and son disappear after canoe capsizes
It was around 10:20am on Sunday (26) when rescuers were called to Rua Melvin Jones Street, located on the banks of the Itajaí Azú River, close to the sand collection port in Indaial.
Family members of the father and son were on the riverbank and told rescuers they saw the canoe capsize when they lost sight of them.
Firefighters say the search is focused in an area known for strong currents that are 15 to 20 meters deep. The search covers the entire river, which is 100 meters wide and has a radius of about 300 meters in diameter.
On Sunday (26), an Arkanjo-03 helicopter from the Blumenau military fire department was used to conduct an aerial search, and divers also worked in the depths of the river.
