Two men were caught with counterfeit dollars in Florianopolis on Monday evening (27). According to the MRP (Military Highway Police), 85 counterfeit banknotes worth the equivalent of $8,500 were found along with the pair.
Police approached the two men at around 10pm on the Pedro Ivo Campos Bridge. The suspects were in a VW/Virtus car and were stopped by a PMRv patrol.
During the drive-in, police found counterfeit bills on the men, as well as four counterfeit documents, two of which had a photograph of a man driving a car, and the other of a passenger.
Two men were arrested red-handed for crimes related to counterfeiting and ideological lies. They were taken along with false materials seized to the federal police station.
A passenger in the vehicle also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to police. The names of the two men have not been released.
