On Sunday, water supply may be disrupted in the northern, eastern and southern regions of Joinville (3). In total, 34 microdistricts may be affected. The reason is maintenance at the Cubatao Water Treatment Plant (ETA).

According to Companhia Águas de Joinville, the work will require the unit to be interrupted from 5 am. Scheduled shutdowns allow parts to be replaced and supply system improvements to be made to avoid corrective maintenance.

Once the work is completed, the system will be gradually restored. The forecast is that supplies to the regions closest to ETA Cubatão, located in Pirabeirab, will return to normal on Sunday evening. In more remote areas and at higher elevations, water supplies should be restored during Monday (4).

Areas served by ETA Cubatão: Ademar Garcia, América, Anita Garibaldi, Atiradores, Aventureiro, Bom Retiro, Boa Vista, Bucarean, Centro, Comasa, Costa e Silva, Northern Industrial District, Dona Francisca, Espineiros, Fatima, Floresta, Gloria. .

Other work on Sunday

To take advantage of the water supply disruptions, six more works will be carried out in areas served by ETA Cubatão. One of them will be located on Florianópolis Street, near the junction with Avenida Procopio Gómez (Bucarain/Guanabara), to replace the pressure pump of the pumping system installed at the site. The procedure, carried out annually, consists of removing equipment for preventive maintenance and installing another, already modified motor pump on site.

On Rua Monsenor Guersino, in the Itaum district, three interventions will be carried out: one on the corner of the Petronilla da Silva easement, where a register and a macrometer will be installed. There will also be two registers – one on the corner of Petropolis Street and the other on the corner of Teresopolis Street. The purpose of installing registers is to reduce the area of ​​deficits in case of carrying out preventive work on the network.

On Belarmino García Street, also in the Itaum district, work will be carried out to prepare the area for the implementation of the new supply network in the coming months. Finally, on Kasapava Street in Bom Retiro, a new valve will be installed at the inlet of the R-8 tank to automate maneuvers and enable remote control of the inflow.

To avoid disruptions during work on the water supply network, it is recommended to install a water tank in houses. The tank must have sufficient capacity for the number of residents of the property, which is 200 liters per day per resident. The company also recommends connecting all equipment in the home to a water tank.
