A 49-year-old man was arrested in Brusque, in Vale do Itajaí, after he broke into the house of his ex-wife and her daughter with a weapon this Sunday (26) and tried to kill her current partner. The incident occurred around 23:00 in the Nueva Brasília area.

According to military police, the attacker’s daughter, a 17-year-old teenage girl, witnessed the scene and tried to stop her father from entering the house where her mother lives with her current partner. The divorce between the girl’s mother and father occurred about six months ago.

The teenager said she saw her father enter the yard of the house and locked the house to make sure the man left because his ex-wife’s current partner was there.

She herself said that she tried to stop her father, but he managed to enter and shot several times at the door of one of the rooms of the house. He then ran to his ex-wife’s current partner and the two men got into a fight.

While the intruder was disarmed by a resident of the house, the gun accidentally went off and wounded the girl’s stepfather in the left arm. Military police arrived at the scene and managed to calm the situation and stop the fight.

The man shot more than 10 times

A .765-caliber pistol, six .32-caliber cartridges, ten spent cartridges, shells, shrapnel, the armed man’s cell phone and the cell phone of one of the witnesses were recovered from the scene. The suspect was arrested red-handed and taken to the Brusque police station to give evidence.

The victim’s family was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The case was classified as attempted murder.
