With new changes in the structure, the Armando Odebrecht Family Health Strategy (ESF) branch, located on Prof. Street, was renovated. Jakob Ineichen, Itupawa central district, was brought by the Blumenau City Hall through the Secretariat for Health Promotion (Semus). The revitalization of the facility will benefit approximately 3,200 patients in the region.

The goal of the one-year work was to expand and renovate the existing area by replacing the internal flooring and all doors within the building. In addition, the electrical network was updated and changes were made to accommodate accessibility: a toilet was built for people with ostomies who required opening surgery to digest, eat or breathe.

The handover ceremony, held on November 6 this year, was attended by the mayor of Blumenau, Mario Hildebrandt, the vice-mayor, Maria Regina de Souza Soar, the Minister of Health, Marcelo Lanzarin, other authorities and people from the local community.

Other infrastructure improvements that the authorities have taken a close look at include painting the premises, air conditioning the unit with the installation of a split air conditioning system, which is divided into a condensing unit (outside) and an evaporative unit (inside). ).

According to Hildebrandt, the main reason for the reform was to improve the conditions of service in the Armando Odebrecht Family Health Strategy (ESF) unit. “Thanks to the changes, the professionals working in the medical department will be able to do more for the community, and users visiting Armando Odebrecht will live in a spacious environment that meets the needs of the region,” adds the mayor of the municipality.

Of the more than R$810,000 invested, almost R$280,000 was achieved through a neighborhood impact study carried out by RNI Incorporadora. Another 153.3 thousand reais are the municipality’s own resources. Approximately 204.9 thousand reais came from the amendment of former state deputy Ricardo Alba, and the remaining 172.8 thousand reais came from the primary health care of the government of Santa Catarina.

Expansion of space

The work also included expanding the reception, pharmacy and waiting areas. As a result of the expansion, the facility now has 528.50 square meters to serve the public.

Vice Mayor Maria Regina de Souza Soar celebrates the expansion of space to better serve people. “Thanks to the additional materials we received at ESF Armando Odebrecht, we were able to expand the division by another team,” he notes.

Marcelo Lanzarin, Minister of Health, says ESF patients deserve good care, humane care and adequate space. “I am very pleased that I can carry out this reform, which will benefit workers and the population,” says the head of the department.
