The Civil Police of Santa Catarina launched Operation Galo da Madrugada this Thursday (13) in towns in the west of the state. A total of 5 search and arrest warrants were executed and a man was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm. 150 roosters were also collected. – Reproduction/Civilian Police
According to investigators, in April this year, the Civil Police discovered a cockfight in the municipality of Chanchere. The evidence collected at that time provided information to the investigation sector to locate firearms and other elements associated with the crime of bird cruelty. – Reproduction/Civilian Police
The operation was supported by civilian police officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and the Women’s Protection Station of Chanchere, Bom Jesus, Xasim and Chapeco. In Chapeco, in addition to animals, firearms were seized and a 48-year-old man was arrested for the crime of illegal possession of firearms. The suspect was taken to Chapeco Police Station but was released after posting bail. – Reproduction/Civilian Police
