Meirisson de Moura was sentenced by the Santa Catarina court to 15 years in prison for the murder of Deborah Custodio de Arruda, which occurred in Balneario Pizarras in 2021. Two other suspects in the crime, Gabriel Franczak de Nigris and Adriano Maciel, were also convicted but acquitted.
The Litoral Norte resident was reported missing on May 6 that year until her body was found in Joinville two months later. The author admitted that she strangled her, contacting the civil police and taking her to the north of Santa Catarina.
Both he and the two suspects were charged with robbery – robbery followed by death – with concealment of a corpse as a qualifier. However, this thesis was rejected because there was no clear intention to appropriate any of the victim’s property.
Gabriel and Adriano were in the car where the incident occurred and in which the body was transported. However, the State Court acquitted them of involvement in the murder. Meirisson, in turn, was found guilty of qualified murder.
Murder accused seek help in Paraná
Shortly after the murder, the trio left the body in Joinville and sought help at a drug rehabilitation clinic in Guaratuba, Paraná state. There Meirisson would regret it.
He told what happened to the pastor, who took him to the police station, where he confessed to committing the crime and transporting the body. At that time I could not tell the exact place where I left Deborah.
The military and civilian police, as well as the IGP (Institute of General Examiners), were called in to investigate the murder, while the police’s homicide squad was investigating the case.
