At about two o’clock in the morning this Thursday (16), the fire was extinguished at the gas station in Chapeco, in the west of Santa Catarina. Four tanks had been on fire since 6:30 a.m. Monday (13).
After the fire was extinguished, about 15 firefighters on the scene began clearing the structure to prevent the flames from reoccurring. The corporation then began an operation to demobilize the personnel and equipment involved in the incident.
From this point on, firefighters begin the expert stage and draw up reports to determine the circumstances of the fire. Everything indicates that the fire started when the tanker was unloading 76 thousand liters of fuel.
