The Praia da Saudade warehouse in the Coqueiros area, in the continental region of Florianópolis, began to be restored this Monday (13). The work is being carried out at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and will be carried out by the Department of Transport and Infrastructure. They started by demolishing the shell of the old structure.
The new warehouse will be 95 meters long and three meters wide, with a total area of 301.89 m². It will be made of concrete, like the previous one, but will have a wooden deck-like floor that will serve as a platform for contemplating natural beauty, with benches and a gazebo.
The job is an old claim
Reconstruction of the warehouse has been a long-standing request of residents and visitors to the area. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Raphael Hane emphasizes that “there are a number of improvements in this region.”
Such is the case with the recent revival of the beaches of Riso and Saudade; from Plaza Governor José Boabaida in Praia do Meio; Coqueiros Park; in addition to the recently completed deck renovation at Bom Abrigo.
The Minister of Continental and Metropolitan Affairs, Guilherme Pereira, emphasizes that “the Praia da Saudade warehouse is part of the history of Coqueiros. In the 1960s and 1970s, the best beaches were on the mainland and families would head to the region for holidays during their holidays.”
The work will last one year and the investment will amount to almost 2.5 million reais. The warehouse will provide access to the island, which was home to the Arrastão and Beliscão restaurants in the 1960s and 1970s, a naval area, a Union heritage site that can be used by individuals or legal entities through the transfer of rights of use.
