National police have arrested 121 people in different parts of Spain for distributing child pornography through a digital platform and confiscated a total of 500 terabytes (TB) of content in an operation initiated by agents of the Central Police Unit. classified as one of the most important events held in Spain.

125 searches were carried out across the country, during which 368 hard drives, 114 USB drives, 100 DVDs, 60 computers and other computer equipment were seized. The audiovisual material seized from those arrested represents 500 terabytes of extremely hardcore pornographic content involving minors.

According to the National Police, 121 people arrested, 118 men and three women, used the same digital platform to obtain and distribute illegal content.

One of the arrests carried out in Madrid allowed a man to confiscate more than two million files on sexual abuse committed against very young girls. Many of the videos featured a high degree of violence against the victims and were stored on ten high-capacity hard drives.

In Alicante, agents arrested a man who was in possession of a large number of multimedia files containing sexually explicit images of two underage males. During the analysis of the materials, investigators found out that the material was recorded in the house of the arrested person.

In Caceres and Almeria, three people were arrested and the courts determined their prison sentences based on the amount of content found on them, with one of these detainees agreeing to a five-year prison sentence for the offense of possessing and distributing sexually explicit material. exploitation of children. .

During 125 searches carried out in the homes and workplaces of those arrested, 946 electronic storage media were seized – 368 hard drives, 427 CDs and DVDs, 114 USB drives, 37 memory cards, 60 computers, 47 mobile phones, six tablets, a video camera and other electronic devices.

All materials involved in the operation are subject to a technical police check in search of new evidence that will allow further investigative actions to identify new victims of sexual violence or contacts of detainees who make up the pedophile network.

The arrests came after an investigation was launched as a result of the National Cyber ​​Patrol’s proactive work against pedophile networks. The operation required the participation of 46 territorial units of agents specializing in cybercrime.
