The US Security Council announced this Thursday (9) that Israel will begin to provide a daily four-hour truce for the arrival of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.
A truce will be declared
The organization’s strategic communications coordinator, John Kirby, said civilians would be notified three hours in advance of the break times, Folha de S. Paulo reported.
Kirby said more details would be provided by Israeli forces, but a statement on the timing of the first break was expected to be released later this Thursday.
The White House announcement comes after intense international pressure over the growing humanitarian crisis in the region. Since the start of the confrontation on October 7, more than 10 thousand deaths have been recorded.
