Governor Jorginho Mello (Poland) on Tuesday (7) requested from the President of the BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development) Aloisio Mercadante the amount of R$ 631 million from the credit line of the “Estrada Boa” program. A request has been made to carry out infrastructure work on more than 60 sections of Santa Catarina’s highways.
The President of BNDES assured that now all that is needed is to set a date for signing the contract and transfer the resources to Santa Catarina.
“In total, the Legislative Assembly and the bank have already approved a sum of 1.5 billion reais. We have already used 400 million reais and are now asking for this second phase so that we can speed up the construction and rehabilitation of all roads in Santa Catarina,” the governor emphasized.
He also asked for a contribution to the BRDE (Banco Regional de Desenvolvimento do Extremo Sul) to help rebuild municipalities affected by the recent rains in the region.
“BRDE will provide us with R$200 million so that we can help micro and small companies and small farmers. We are going to create an emergency program called Pronampe (National Program to Support Micro and Small Businesses), Mello emphasized.
The Governor also provided some information on the state’s agricultural waste problem. “We have losses in agriculture of more than 2.5 billion reais. We are here to free up the resources that the state needs and has a right to,” he concluded.
