A 15-year-old was arrested for drug trafficking after transporting approximately ten kilograms of marijuana in a ride-sharing app vehicle last Monday (6). The vehicle, a black Voyage, had a license plate from the municipality of Turvo (PNR) and was traveling at a speed exceeding the average speed in the area.
The incident occurred during a PRF (Federal Traffic Police) patrol in the BR-101 area under the direction of Agent Romulo Costa Ribeiro, who was approaching the Voyage.
According to the driver, he was driving from Foz do Iguaçu and shopping in Argentina, and on the way back he hitchhiked to his destination. During the interrogation, corporate officers noticed a strong odor of drugs in the trunk.
When checking the luggage compartment, agents found a large amount of marijuana, which, in principle, belonged to the teenager. When the police asked the driver to open the trunk, she began to cry.
The drugs will be delivered to Itajai
The tablets with the drug were in the suitcase of the girl who was supposed to deliver the drug to Itajai. The owner of Voyage, in turn, stated that he was only engaged in transporting passengers.
All three were taken to the Itajaí Civil Police for appropriate procedures. The punishment for drug trafficking ranges from 5 to 15 years in prison.
