Civilian police are investigating students at a Rio de Janeiro school on suspicion of using artificial intelligence to create nudes of more than 20 classmates. Families of the victims filed complaints against the students.
According to portal R7, the case was referred to the regional police station by the students’ parents after doctored images were posted in messaging app groups.

According to preliminary information, students used the application to manipulate photographs posted by classmates on social networks. At least 20 girls would have been targeted by the group.
The DPCA (Department for the Protection of Children and Adolescents) said that everyone involved in the case has been summoned for questioning and that an investigation is underway to determine who is responsible for the crime.
In a statement, Santo Agostinho School said it regretted the incident and sympathized with the students and their families involved. In addition, the school said it would take disciplinary action.
