The body of teenager Vitor, 14, who went missing on Sunday (29th) after drowning on a beach at Itapema, on the SA north coast, was found late on Wednesday (1st). The victim’s uncle confirmed the young man’s identity.
Rescuers discovered the drowning victim’s body at around 5:45 pm this Wednesday after four days of searching. The young man drowned in the sea in Meia Praia, Itapema, at around 4pm on Sunday.
The victim was found in the sea, not far from rescue station 4, on street 233. The boy’s uncle confirmed his identity, and IML and military police officers are on the scene.
According to rescuers, two teenagers were carried away by the sea in the area of 211th Street. When they arrived at the scene, a 13-year-old boy had already been rescued, and the degree of drowning was insignificant.
However, as the crew approached, the 14-year-old victim went underwater. Relatives said the victims were at sea when they were dragged.
Intensive search for a teenager
The fire department’s Arcanjo 03 helicopter was called in for support, and a search using jet skis and divers was carried out over the following days. Fishermen and volunteers also carried out a trawl in an attempt to find the young man.
