Construction of a secondary pier on the Pereque River began last Wednesday (25) in Porto Belo, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina. The space will be 200 meters long and is part of a project that includes two more berths on the Costa Smeralda.
The project was implemented in June 2023 with the construction of the main structure, 360 meters long, which is at the finishing stage. A third berth, 65 meters long, will also be built at this location.
Marinas benefit Porto Belo
In an effort to improve water turbidity, the designs can also reduce the tidal influence of the Pereque River and increase the flow of water flowing through the river bed. Thus, the concentration of sediment on the shore is minimized, which helps to clean the beach.
Environmental licensing and the pier design were provided by ACIP (Association of Builders and Developers of Porto Belo). In addition, the company also paid an investment of R$ 13 million to carry out the work.
