A man called military police after his own brother-in-law threatened him and killed his dog in Sao Martinho, southern SA, on Monday (30). According to Garrison, it is suspected that the dog was executed by a family member after the animal killed chickens on his property.

The garrisons arrived at the scene and found that the two sons-in-law had quarreled. The shooter, at the request of the military police, produced the weapon with which he killed the dog – a rifle modified to .22 caliber, as well as six cartridges.

The man also handed over a 4.5 mm pistol to the police. The person responsible for the shooting was taken to the police station for crimes related to illegal possession of a firearm and cruelty to a dog, penalties for which can range from two to five years in prison and a fine.
