A 21-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after her husband was caught stabbing the victim in Guaraciaba, in the far west of Santa Catarina. The victim’s neighbors heard screams on Friday (27) and went to the house.

The victim was rescued by firefighters and taken to the São Lucas hospital, but due to the severity of his injuries he had to be transferred to the Teresinha Gaio Basso hospital in São Miguel do Oeste.

Arriving at the scene, neighbors saw a man, also 21 years old, standing over the woman’s body. According to witnesses, the suspect was holding a knife in his hand and injuring the victim. After being caught, the man fled and was found on Saturday (28).

Civilian police and scientific police were called and conducted an investigation at the scene. After a search, police located the suspect. He was arrested for attempted feminicide and taken to the civil police station of São Miguel do Oeste, where he was transferred to the custody of the Ministry of Justice.
